Some people are just born happy and stay happy throughout their life. Others see nothing but negativity in life and are depressed. Those people that just seem to hate life, can they learn to be happy too? Can YOU?
A professor of positive psychology at George Mason University in Virginia, Todd Kashdan, also author of Curious, says, “What truly provides satisfaction is having a meaning and purpose in life, which is doubly important in the midst of this current economic nightmare.”
I totally agree with his statement. With our economy in such a down spin, it makes it really hard to find the positive side of things. But, it you find you have a purpose in life, then that’s all you’ll focus on.
You’ll wind up not worrying about everything else that’s going on in the world. That doesn’t mean you don’t care, it just means you have better things in life to do than worry about all the negative things.
Todd Kashdan also says, “We need to move away from the concept of trying to fill our days with frequent pleasurable moments and fewer negative moments.” In other words, fill your day with sunshine and fun, with happiness and joy, and stay away from the negative.
There will always be a lot of negativity in life. When the real estate market crashed and the stock market spiraled downward, a lot of people lost their life savings. They became unable to make their mortgage payments, car payments, and went into credit card debt big time. I know how that feels, as I was one.
The thing you have to do in this situation is just deal with it. Never, ever, put all your thoughts on it. Instead of thinking of all your debt, think of a solution! There is a solution for every problem, Math 101! Don’t ever beat yourself up over what has happened in your life, move ahead and find the happiness you deserve. Everyone was born in this world to be happy, including YOU!
