Money Can’t Buy Happiness!

moneyThey say, “Money can’t buy happiness!”

Well, Success Magazine declares: “Happy People Make More Money!” Happy people are very positive, and positivity has a strong casual link to higher incomes, perhaps because people who see the glass as half full tend to see and be more open to opportunities, to be easier to work with and for, and more likely to find creative solutions and less likely to give up. So, while more money doesn’t necessarily make you happier, More Happiness just might make you more money!

There are all kinds of ways to spread happiness, and there are a lot of people out there doing it right now.

An Iowa woman celebrated her 34th birthday with 34 acts of kindness, hoping to spread happiness by helping others. She left a bag of quarters at a local Laundromat. Dropped a $5 bill on the floor at the dollar store. Thanked firefighters with boxes of chocolates. Handed out Subway restaurant gift cards to homeless people. And stocked the baby changing table at a local Target store with disposable wipes, among many other things. After every act of kindness, she would leave a calling card, urging others to pay it forward.

Another woman would pay for the food of the people behind her in a drive up window. She baked birthday cakes for friends, filled a strangers gas tank, paid for someone’s groceries at the store.

There are many ways to spread happiness, even if you have no money. You can volunteer at the nearest human society, help out at a dog shelter, or just help out your neighbor next door.

If you ever run out of reasons to be Happy, remember there is always one good reason to just stay happy: It makes you feel better than anything else you could do!be happy

The way I look at things is, My glass  is always full! Even if a glass is only 1/2 full of water, the other half is air, therefore, it is full! I totally believe that staying in a happy frame of mind helps beat the cancer blues!

5 Tips To Help Avoid Cancer!

doctorI just read an article by: Dwight McKee, MD He is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, nutrition, and integrative and holistic medicine.
This is what he had to say:
“People who have suffered and beaten cancer are willing to do anything they can to prevent the disease from returning. And that’s probably a mindset everyone should adopt, whether they’ve had cancer or not.”
He’s made fighting cancer his life’s work, McKee says these tips are powerful, and not only advises them to his patients, but anyone else who will listen.
1. Address stress
Chronic stress suppresses your immune function and stokes inflammation, which is like fuel for cancer, says McKee. Whether you get into yoga, hiking, or meditation, “the key is to find a stress-management technique that’s enjoyable,” he says. “If it’s not enjoyable, it’s not sustainable.”
2. Beware of mold
“Mycotoxins and aflatoxins found in mold are among the most carcinogenic substances known,” McKee says. If you’ve had a pipe break in your home, or your basement or bathroom is damp and smells like mildew, hire a mold-removal expert to check out your space and 86 the threat, he says.
3. Break a sweat
Hitting the gym can cause immune system changes that may help you fend off cancer, according to a study from the University of Nebraska. Researchers analyzed the profiles of 16 cancer survivors before and after a 12-week exercise program, comparing their ratio of worn-out immune cells to immune cells that can fight off cancer. Before the exercise program, the survivors’ blood profiles were dominated by the worn-out cells, but after 12 weeks of training, those levels dropped by 15%.
4. Lend a helping hand
Clinical research shows volunteering, mentoring, and other acts of altruism pump up your immune function. “It’s necessary for good health to engage in something on a regular basis that’s rewarding,” says McKee, “and one of the most rewarding activities is helping people.”
5. Take this supplement
This comes up so much that you’re probably tired of hearing about it, but vitamin D is important for multiple aspects of your health—and that includes reducing your risk for cancer, McKee says. The problem: You’re probably not getting enough of it.
The easy fix is spending more time outside. Just 10 minutes of midday, summer sun has been known to deliver as much as 10,000 IU of vitamin D. But as we get closer to winter, the sun won’t be strong enough to trigger that much production, so you’ll have to work D-dense foods like fatty fishes into your diet, and add a supplement.
While the Institute of Medicine recommends a conservative 600 IU, The Endocrine Society—and most doctors—deem up to 2,000 IU daily to be safe. Look for a supplement brand with the trusted U.S. Pharmaceutical Ingredient Verification label.
Having had breast cancer myself, I believe what Dr. McKee is saying. The one thing I would add to his list is: Stay In A Happy Frame Of Mind!smiley

How Do You Measure YOUR Happiness?

boy measuringEveryone measures their happiness in different ways. Some of us measure it in love, material things, health, or success, any way you want to measure it, it comes out as an emotion. How each of us choose to measure our own individual happiness will vary.

There are many things that bring me happiness. My family, my friends, my health, my wealth, my success. I just look around and see all the things that I am truly grateful for and that brings me happiness. Life can be like an up and down see saw, good days, and bad days, you just have to keep looking at the good side of things.

John Templeton Quoted: “Happiness comes from spiritual wealth, not material wealth. Happiness comes from giving, not getting. If we try hard to bring happiness to others, we cannot stop it from coming to us also. To get joy, we must give it, and to keep joy, we must scatter it.

Happiness can come from many different things. What ever you enjoy doing in life can bring you happiness. Listening to a water fall escalating down a mountain top. Sitting in a boat waiting for that big fish to bite your hook, while all is peaceful around you. Smelling the wild flowers while walking in a big meadow. Watching your favorite movie, or reading your favorite book. A back yard barbecue with family and friends.

Extreme happiness can come from watching you’re baby be born.baby There is nothing like watching a life come into the world, what a miracle! There is much happiness when watching your child grow up. Watching them take their first steps, hearing them say their first words or learning to ride their bike for the first time.

There is plenty in life which brings happiness and contentment, the challenge for some of us is to find it. To push aside the challenges, the obstacles and to simply stop and enjoy the moment. To absorb the feeling and emotion of happiness.

We often look around at our life as routine in search of something greater. By doing this we wide up ignoring the simply joys and happiness that we already have.

We are all responsible for our own happiness and I choose mine to be at 110%! What about YOU?

Can YOU Learn To Be Happy?

happy girl in flowersSome people are just born happy and stay happy throughout their life. Others see nothing but negativity in life and are depressed. Those people that just seem to hate life, can they learn to be happy too? Can YOU?

A professor of positive psychology at George Mason University in Virginia, Todd Kashdan, also author of Curious, says, “What truly provides satisfaction is having a meaning and purpose in life, which is doubly important in the midst of this current economic nightmare.

I totally agree with his statement. With our economy in such a down spin, it makes it really hard to find the positive side of things. But, it you find you have a purpose in life, then that’s all you’ll focus on.
You’ll wind up not worrying about everything else that’s going on in the world. That doesn’t mean you don’t care, it just means you have better things in life to do than worry about all the negative things.

Todd Kashdan also says, “We need to move away from the concept of trying to fill our days with frequent pleasurable moments and fewer negative moments.” In other words, fill your day with sunshine and fun, with happiness and joy, and stay away from the negative.

There will always be a lot of negativity in life. When the real estate market crashed and the stock market spiraled downward, a lot of people lost their life savings. They became unable to make their mortgage payments, car payments, and went into credit card debt big time. I know how that feels, as I was one.

The thing you have to do in this situation is just deal with it. Never, ever, put all your thoughts on it. Instead of thinking of all your debt, think of a solution! There is a solution for every problem, Math 101! Don’t ever beat yourself up over what has happened in your life, move ahead and find the happiness you deserve. Everyone was born in this world to be happy, including YOU!

What Is The Meaning Of Happiness?

little girl happyWhile looking up the meaning of happiness, my brother happened to have a dictionary dated 1912,  over 100 years old. It is called the ‘New Websterian 1912 Dictionary’. Based upon the unabridged dictionary of Noah Webster, LL.D.

The meaning of happiness in this dictionary is: The state of being happy; good fortune; felicitousness. There is also a meaning of, happify, didn’t really know it was a word, but it says: to make cheerful and happy.

What Good Is It To Have Everything If You’re Not Happy?

I think people have lost perspective of what true happiness is. People keep thinking, If I would just loose some weight I would be happy, If I could make more money I would be happy, If I was rich I would be happy, If I had better health, I would be happy. I could go on and on with different reasons of what people think they need in order to be happy.

Right now we live in an age of convenience. We have more conveniences than our ancestors could ever even dream of having. We have trains, planes, and fast automobiles. We have cell phones, and computers, at the touch of a button we can communicate with any one in the world. Yet with all these conveniences more people are unhappy and miserable today than a hundred years ago.

People are getting so caught up with chasing after the next big buck, with being rich that they forget the true meaning of a happy life. What good is it to have everything if you’re not happy?

Jack LaLanne made a video a few years ago and in it he talks about being happy. He said if you look around you when you’re on a bus or walking down the street, you’ll notice the bigger majority of people have frowns on their faces, they’ve completely lost the ability to smile. They may be driving the fanciest car, or wearing the most expensive suit, or have all the money in the world, but they’re not happy. Why is this?

He tells a story of being on a street car, where this lady wore ragged clothes, torn dress and carrying a baby. She sat down on the bus, started nursing the baby and then started singing, everyone on the street car started singing, including Jack LaLanne. He said almost all the people on the street car were poor, they had little food, little money, no fancy cars, but they were happy. So what good does it do to have all the major convinces in life, the fancy cars, the fancy suits, lots of money, if you can’t be happy? It makes no sense to Jack Lalanne, it makes no sense to me.

Jack Lalanne’s whole focus in life is exercise, eating right and being happy. He says you need to exercise, without exercise everything is hanging and drooping, including your smile. He says, “Let’s get back to the way nature intended us to be, really enjoying everything we have in this great land of ours, and really appreciate it twenty four hours a day. You must choose to be happy, and live your day as if it was your last!happy baby

Happiness cannot come from without. It must come from within. It is not what we see and touch or that which others do for us which makes us happy; it is that which we think and feel and do, first for the other fellow and then for ourselves. ‘Helen Keller’

I truly believe that one of the ways to fight cancer is to stay in a happy frame of mind, ALWAYS BE HAPPY! I believe it helped me fight breast cancer and now basil cell cancer.

The Key To Being Happier!

smiling sunThere’s no magic potion, pill or antidote to make yourself happier.

A lot of people turn to alcohol or drugs to drown out the pain, but that is only a temporary fix. Alcohol is actually a depressant and in the long run can destroy your life and those around you. Taking drugs is even worse, the first high may make you feel happier than you’ve ever been, but there is and always will be a down side. You can also get hooked on hard drugs easier than alcohol and some will kill you.

I’ve watched someone destroy their life with drugs. She was the most beautiful girl, and very young. Not sure why she started taking drugs in the first place, as she had a beautiful baby boy, a fiancé, family and great friends. After only a few months of doing drugs, she had nothing more to do with anything, that included her one year old baby boy. To this day, Twelve years later, she is still some where on the streets doing drugs and looking like death is all around her. The sad part about alcohol and drugs is no one can help them, but themselves. They have to want to change, they need to change their emotions, without the use of substances.

So what is the key to being happier?

It’s your emotions. You have full control over your emotions. You can choose to be sad, angry, or happy. Controlling your emotions is literally the key to living a healthier, happier, and more abundant life.

When you let your emotions take control of how you feel, like stressed out, angry, depressed, it causes major turmoil in your life, which in turn makes it almost impossible to be happy. These negative emotions can be the death of you, they can prevent you from enjoying the things that make you happy.

You have to learn how to change your emotions, overcome all the negative energy around you. Change the negative energy into positive happy energy. Emotions actually carry a distinct energy that influences everything around us, change your emotions, change your life.

Take your happy life back again by controlling your emotions. It’s not all just about positive thinking, although it helps, but what you need to do is learn control. When a negative emotion enters into your life, change it with a positive emotion. Get your mind completely off being depressed and find something that makes you happy again.

thinkingI was just sitting here thinking about what it would be like if just ONE PERSON helped someone else today.  Could you image what the world would be like if that happened. Zig Ziglar also says, In order to stay motivated, you have to do it every day. It’s like taking a bath.

There is nothing better than to have that happy feeling inside of you knowing you have helped someone else. When you help someone else it boosts your self esteem.  You feel more worthy of the good deeds you’ve done, and it gives others the feeling of trusting you more. You don’t have to know about everything or be the best at everything in order to give value to others.

So again, sitting here thinking today, I’m going to find someone to help today and start bouncing that ball of happiness and good will, around the world! How about you?question mark
