One Small Step!

stepHappiness really is a state of mind that you can choose if you want to. Learn to choose to focus on the things that make you happy in life, the things that go right, rather that the bad things. Bring the things that make you happy into full focus like a bright shining star and make them the bigger part of your life. It’s easy to do, one step at a time!

Think of it this way, when you stare into the big sky at night, would you rather see big black clouds or bright shiny stars? I would rather have bright shiny stars in my life!

When you start moving in the direction that makes you happy, it becomes just like swimming down river, freely and easily.

When you move more in the direction that makes you unhappy, it’s like swimming up river against the current. You become tired and run out of energy easily. I choose to be happy, how about you?

Life can be full of demands, overwhelms, frustrations, obstacles, sadness, and, of course, happiness. What is it you really want out of your life? And just how do you get it?

The very first thing you need to do is write down your wants. You might be saying right now, “It doesn’t matter what I want, I’m never going to get it!” Well, to be honest with you, with that type of attitude, you’re right, You won’t get what you want. You have to have a positive attitude towards what you want and know that you will get it.

Now, in order to get what you want, you have to take it one small step at a time. When I first thought about writing a book, I thought to my self, that’s just too big of a project, it will take me a life time. Then I heard someone say, “If you want to accomplish something in your life, take it one small step at a time. If it’s a book you want to write, just write one page a day and before you know it, you will have written your book!”

So that is exactly what I started doing, writing one page a day. Yes, there are some days that I skip, some times my creative side just doesn’t want to work, or life gets in the way. But as long as I managed to do my best and took that one small step, I knew I could accomplish finishing my book. And it really worked.

No matter what it is that you want out of life, taking that one small step can make a huge difference in your mindset. It can actually change your whole outlook on life. It can even start to relieve being overwhelmed at the task you want to accomplish, it can relieve some of the stress in your life and even depression.

Taking small steps at a time is a good way to approach the problems in your life too. Before you know it most of your problems will be gone, or they really weren’t any thing to worry about in the first place. You’ll also notice that your life becomes more happy, you’ll have a more positive outlook on your life and you’ll be getting those things that you really want.

“All great masters are chiefly distinguished by the power of adding a second, a third, and perhaps a fourth step in a continuous line. Many a man had taken the first step. With every additional step you enhance immensely the value of your first!” Quote: Ralph Waldo Emersonsmall step

4 Tips On Staying Positive!

bright sideOne: When something bad happens, take a deep breath, don’t overreact and then think about what the worst outcome could be. Think of the bright side of what happened. Believe it or not there always is a bright side, whether you think so at the time or not.

Albert Einstein said: “In the middle of every difficulty, lies opportunity.”

Two: Realize how bad you feel when you are having negative feelings. Is it really worth it? Now realize how awesome you feel and how beautiful life really looks when you are having positive feelings. I know it’s hard sometimes to go from feeling bad to feeling good, but it can be done. The best way to change your feelings is to think of something that makes you happy and then go there in your mind.

Three: The worst thing you can ever do, is to watch all the garbage that is going on in the news, whether it is on the television or in the news paper. It’s ok to know what is going on in the world, but don’t indulge yourself in it, especially when it is negative. All that does is make you feel worse and think that there is never going to be an end to all the bad stuff happening to you. Instead of listening or reading bad news, read a motivational book, or watch a comedy. You will be surprised at how your feelings will change, when you sit there and laugh until you cry at a funny movie.

Four: Most of all, stay away from negative people and situations. The last thing you need when you’re feeling down is someone else that is down. Get around up beat happy people. When I had to go through my radiation treatments for my breast cancer, the staff was the most inspiring, upbeat, and happy people I have ever come across.  What a difference it made having to go through radiation every day.

It really can be hard staying positive in such a negative world. But, if you really open your eyes and your heart, there is a million to one in positive energy versus negative energy around you, if you let it in!positive energy

Scientists have done research and that if you have at least 5 positive thoughts versus negative thoughts, that it is better for your heart, and immune system. Having a great heart and immune system is a great start in dealing with cancer.

Go Nuts For Cancer!

I receive emails from a Doctor on occasion, ‘Dr. Al Sears MD. A lot of what he has researched, and has to say about your body and cancer is very informative.
Here is one of his articles on eating walnuts for cancer prevention.walnuts
“I’ve also been telling my patients for years that a handful of walnuts a day is an excellent source of ALA … especially for cancer prevention.
Previous studies found that extract of omega-3 rich walnuts stopped the spread of breast cancer cells.
In another study, the walnut-sourced omega 3 supplementation given to mice bred to have breast cancer was able to prevent breast cancer from developing.
Now a new study reveals the cancer-fighting benefits of walnuts and omega-3 oils go beyond breast cancer.
The recent study, which looked at walnuts and colon cancer, showed that compounds in walnuts caused protective omega 3 fatty acids to congregate in the tumor cells of mice.
And the effect of these concentrated omega 3s was powerful. It reduced the inflammation of tumors and cut off their blood supply. In short, it slowed the growth of the tumors.

So, how do you get things back in balance?balance your life
First, return to the diet of our ancestors. You should eliminate or strictly limit your intake of sugar, grains and processed foods.
Civilizations and societies may have changed over the past 5,000 years, but our anatomy and physiology have not. And our bodies did not evolve to consume any of these foods.
Second, always opt for grass-fed beef and wild salmon for abundant natural sources of omega-3 oils.
Finally, as a crusader against one of America’s biggest killers, I recommend walnuts to my patients – because these incredible nuts contain a sizable amount of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA).
And research from the latest study suggests walnuts – thanks to their high ALA content – may be a key ingredient in limiting tumor size.
