4 Tips On Staying Positive!

bright sideOne: When something bad happens, take a deep breath, don’t overreact and then think about what the worst outcome could be. Think of the bright side of what happened. Believe it or not there always is a bright side, whether you think so at the time or not.

Albert Einstein said: “In the middle of every difficulty, lies opportunity.”

Two: Realize how bad you feel when you are having negative feelings. Is it really worth it? Now realize how awesome you feel and how beautiful life really looks when you are having positive feelings. I know it’s hard sometimes to go from feeling bad to feeling good, but it can be done. The best way to change your feelings is to think of something that makes you happy and then go there in your mind.

Three: The worst thing you can ever do, is to watch all the garbage that is going on in the news, whether it is on the television or in the news paper. It’s ok to know what is going on in the world, but don’t indulge yourself in it, especially when it is negative. All that does is make you feel worse and think that there is never going to be an end to all the bad stuff happening to you. Instead of listening or reading bad news, read a motivational book, or watch a comedy. You will be surprised at how your feelings will change, when you sit there and laugh until you cry at a funny movie.

Four: Most of all, stay away from negative people and situations. The last thing you need when you’re feeling down is someone else that is down. Get around up beat happy people. When I had to go through my radiation treatments for my breast cancer, the staff was the most inspiring, upbeat, and happy people I have ever come across.  What a difference it made having to go through radiation every day.

It really can be hard staying positive in such a negative world. But, if you really open your eyes and your heart, there is a million to one in positive energy versus negative energy around you, if you let it in!positive energy

Scientists have done research and that if you have at least 5 positive thoughts versus negative thoughts, that it is better for your heart, and immune system. Having a great heart and immune system is a great start in dealing with cancer.

What If?

dreamingThere are many days that you sit dreaming about “What If”!

What if I would have finished high school? What it I had decided on a career? What if I followed my dream? What If I get cancer? What If’s can drive you insane. You need to stop all the what if’s and think of all the great positive things in your life right now.

Right now you can use your broken dreams, disappointments and “what ifs” as stepping stones towards a better future. If you learn from your mistakes, and move forward, you will move forward toward a bigger and better future. Make the most out of today rather than the “What If’s” of yesterday!

So many people get stuck in the “should-a, would-a, could-a’s” and have a hard time forgiving themselves for not doing better in life. Self-forgiveness is vital for moving ahead in life rather than spending time living with a constant pull from the past. Forgive yourself for not knowing everything!

A person really never knows what might have happened if you had chosen the other path, it could even have been worse! We continue to think how things could have been better, rather than focus on what could have been worse! And believe me, things could have been worse.

Look ahead and step out of the “What If’s”! It’s not good to be stuck with unproductive regret. There’s a big difference between productive and unproductive regret. Unproductive regret keeps you focused on how the past would have been better, and productive regret helps you make better decisions as you look toward your future.

I once heard about, “The Swiss Cheese Theory of Life!”

You need to accept the fact that life is not smooth and predictable like American or Cream Cheese. Rather, it is more like Swiss cheese with all its characteristic holes. Interestingly enough, it is a fact that the bigger the holes in the Swiss, the more flavorful, sweeter and more distinctive the cheese. Using this as an analogy to our lives, we have the opportunity of getting stronger and developing more character when we get through large life “holes” and obstacles.’ So, with The Swiss Cheese Theory Of Life, you can feel more positive no matter what comes your way, and will be able to “SMILE AND SAY CHEESE!”smile say cheese

With The Economy Going To Hell, How Can You Stay Positive?

Research indicates that, at the subconscious level, our minds have a tendency to focus on the optimistic while, at the conscious level, we have a tendency to focus on the negative.bad attitude

Let’s face it, life can be hard, but why make it harder by facing it with a bad attitude as well?

Charles Dickens wrote, “There is always something to be thankful for.”
There are so many hardships going on in the world today. Our economy is in the worst recession ever. Our dollar is loosing it’s value. More people are out of work than ever. There are more homeless families than there have ever been before. It seems like every time you turn a corner some one is getting cancer. With all this in life going on,and the world going to hell, how ever can a person continue to stay positive?

I was one of those, like so many thousands of other people, who got knocked down when the fall of the real estate market came. Everything was lost, so I felt! The only thing that kept me going was to stay positive no matter how hard it was to do.

I had to keep telling myself that this was not the end. That this was NOT how my life was suppose to be. I had to knock out the negative noise that was in my head and focus on only the positive.

Eventually things got a little better, then I got breast cancer. Talk about a blow to positive thinking! You start questioning yourself, “How can this be happening?” “Why Me?”, “Is there any thing else you want to throw at me?”

I had to think long and hard about this one. What good would it be to become negative now? There really could be many more things that could go wrong. I learned to put a smile back on my face, be happy and stay positive no matter what. I beat that nasty old breast cancer, and my life is getting better and better.

It’s a must now days to find something to be positive about in your life. The best way to do that is to be thankful for what you now have, no matter how small it might be. Even though I lost everything when the real estate market crashed, and then had breast cancer, I still had so much to be grateful for! I was still alive and learned to enjoy the things around me.

What Is Your Happy?

Everyone has a different HAPPY.  happy baby

Some people find happiness in pleasing others, while others find happiness in power and domination.

Some people define their happy as a billion dollars.

Others think the way to happiness and a meaningful life is to get closer to God and give up everything material.

Still others think the ultimate idea of happiness is freedom!

What is your ‘HAPPY’?

I’m taking a positive psychology class, and they say that their are 10 positive emotions. Believe it or not Happy is not one of them. Happy is a broad term that describes a lot of emotions.

The top 10 positive emotions are:

Joy, Gratitude, Serenity, Interest, Hope, Pride, Amusement, Inspiration, Awe and LOVE!

Maybe that’s why they say, “Everyone has a different happy”, because there are so many emotions that make you feel happy!

Positive emotions also have a lot to do with your immune system function, which is why I believe that when dealing with cancer you need to stay positive.  It’s like a nutrient to your body.

I’ll keep you updated on how my positive psychology class is going along the way. Would love feedback from you on what your take of being positive is!positive

You Can Absolutely Beat, Prevent, and Treat Cancer!

cancer ribbonI just received an email from, Nick Ortner, “The Tapping Solution”

He tells me about, Ty Bollinger! Weather you know him or not, this is a very important message to hear!

If you have cancer or anyone in your family have cancer, or if anyone you know has died from cancer, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!

I know for a fact after having cancer myself; I will at least listen to anyone that may have a treatment for cancer. Especially if the message is free, you can take it or leave it.

This is what he says: “I’m sorry, there’s nothing else we can do…” — 38,356 patients hear this EVERY DAY, Worldwide – and unfortunately, 21,918 of them will pass away each day.
This means that at least thirty (30) people will have passed away by the time you finish reading this page.
It’s horrifying and I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t have to be this way.
And I’m going to share with you the best preventions and treatments from all over the world — absolutely free starting on October 13th 9:00 EST.
Please share this message, as I have on Facebook, I believe it is so important!

Money Can’t Buy Happiness!

moneyThey say, “Money can’t buy happiness!”

Well, Success Magazine declares: “Happy People Make More Money!” Happy people are very positive, and positivity has a strong casual link to higher incomes, perhaps because people who see the glass as half full tend to see and be more open to opportunities, to be easier to work with and for, and more likely to find creative solutions and less likely to give up. So, while more money doesn’t necessarily make you happier, More Happiness just might make you more money!

There are all kinds of ways to spread happiness, and there are a lot of people out there doing it right now.

An Iowa woman celebrated her 34th birthday with 34 acts of kindness, hoping to spread happiness by helping others. She left a bag of quarters at a local Laundromat. Dropped a $5 bill on the floor at the dollar store. Thanked firefighters with boxes of chocolates. Handed out Subway restaurant gift cards to homeless people. And stocked the baby changing table at a local Target store with disposable wipes, among many other things. After every act of kindness, she would leave a calling card, urging others to pay it forward.

Another woman would pay for the food of the people behind her in a drive up window. She baked birthday cakes for friends, filled a strangers gas tank, paid for someone’s groceries at the store.

Aristotle quotes: “Happiness depends upon ourselves!”

There are many ways to spread happiness, even if you have no money. You can volunteer at the nearest human society, help out at a dog shelter, or just help out your neighbor next door.

If you ever run out of reasons to be Happy, remember there is always one good reason to just stay happy: It makes you feel better than anything else you could do!be happy

The way I look at things is, My glass  is always full! Even if a glass is only 1/2 full of water, the other half is air, therefore, it is full! I totally believe that staying in a happy frame of mind helps beat the cancer blues!

5 Tips To Help Avoid Cancer!

doctorI just read an article by: Dwight McKee, MD He is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, nutrition, and integrative and holistic medicine.
This is what he had to say:
“People who have suffered and beaten cancer are willing to do anything they can to prevent the disease from returning. And that’s probably a mindset everyone should adopt, whether they’ve had cancer or not.”
He’s made fighting cancer his life’s work, McKee says these tips are powerful, and not only advises them to his patients, but anyone else who will listen.
1. Address stress
Chronic stress suppresses your immune function and stokes inflammation, which is like fuel for cancer, says McKee. Whether you get into yoga, hiking, or meditation, “the key is to find a stress-management technique that’s enjoyable,” he says. “If it’s not enjoyable, it’s not sustainable.”
2. Beware of mold
“Mycotoxins and aflatoxins found in mold are among the most carcinogenic substances known,” McKee says. If you’ve had a pipe break in your home, or your basement or bathroom is damp and smells like mildew, hire a mold-removal expert to check out your space and 86 the threat, he says.
3. Break a sweat
Hitting the gym can cause immune system changes that may help you fend off cancer, according to a study from the University of Nebraska. Researchers analyzed the profiles of 16 cancer survivors before and after a 12-week exercise program, comparing their ratio of worn-out immune cells to immune cells that can fight off cancer. Before the exercise program, the survivors’ blood profiles were dominated by the worn-out cells, but after 12 weeks of training, those levels dropped by 15%.
4. Lend a helping hand
Clinical research shows volunteering, mentoring, and other acts of altruism pump up your immune function. “It’s necessary for good health to engage in something on a regular basis that’s rewarding,” says McKee, “and one of the most rewarding activities is helping people.”
5. Take this supplement
This comes up so much that you’re probably tired of hearing about it, but vitamin D is important for multiple aspects of your health—and that includes reducing your risk for cancer, McKee says. The problem: You’re probably not getting enough of it.
The easy fix is spending more time outside. Just 10 minutes of midday, summer sun has been known to deliver as much as 10,000 IU of vitamin D. But as we get closer to winter, the sun won’t be strong enough to trigger that much production, so you’ll have to work D-dense foods like fatty fishes into your diet, and add a supplement.
While the Institute of Medicine recommends a conservative 600 IU, The Endocrine Society—and most doctors—deem up to 2,000 IU daily to be safe. Look for a supplement brand with the trusted U.S. Pharmaceutical Ingredient Verification label.
Having had breast cancer myself, I believe what Dr. McKee is saying. The one thing I would add to his list is: Stay In A Happy Frame Of Mind!smiley
